  • Adriatic & Ionian Initiative (AII)

    The AII (which includes eight Members: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia) aims to strengthen regional cooperation in order to promote political and economic stability, thus creating a solid base for the process of European integration.

  • Arge Donauländer

  • Bavarian Ministry of the Interior

    The Bavarian Ministry of the Interior is in charge of the coordination of Priority Area Security, together with the German Ministry of the Interior and Bulgarian Ministry of the Interior.

  • BSEC - Organisation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation

    The BSEC came into existence as a unique and promising model of multilateral political and economic initiative aimed at fostering interaction and harmony among the Member States (Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine), as well as to ensure peace, stability and prosperity, encouraging friendly and good-neighbourly relations in the Black Sea region.

  • Bulgarian Ministry of the Interior

    The Bulgarian Ministry of the Interior is in charge of the coordination of Priority Area Security, together with the German Ministry of the Interior and the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior.

  • CASEE - The ICA Regional Network for Central and South Eastern Europe

    CASEE, is a network of Central and South Eastern European Higher Education Institutions relating to the Life Science disciplines (agriculture, food, biotechnology, natural resources, rural development and the environment).

  • Central European Initiative (CEI)

    The Central European Initiative (CEI) is the oldest and largest intergovernmental forum for regional cooperation in Europe, with an observer status in the General Assembly of the United Nations.

  • Council of Danube Cities and Regions (CODCR)

    Launched in Ulm by the "Deklaration der Donastädte" on 4 July 1998, the CODCR is a major inter-municipal and interregional network, to become an example of cross-border cooperation in the Danube Region. With its political Head Office in Ulm and operational Headquarters and General Secretariat in Bucharest, the Council of Danube Cities and Regions is a bridge that links European, regional and local institutions to the academic, business, financing networks and other representatives of the civil society.
     
  • Danube Area Interregional Group at the Committee of the Regions

    The "Danube" Group, set up in January 2009, advocates the development by the European Commission of a "Danube region strategy", to which it wishes to make an effective contribution. It also intends to promote a common identity for the Danube region in order to affirm the region's full potential. The group intends to work towards creating synergies and to raise the region's profile at national, regional and European levels. Location: Brussels, Belgium

  • Danube Black Sea Task Force (DABLAS)

    The DABLAS Task Force is a successful example of providing a platform between International Funding Institutions, donors and beneficiaries to support cooperation and to leverage investment projects for the protection of water and water-related ecosystems of the Danube and Black Sea.

  • Danube Day

    Danube Day is a celebration of a cleaner, safer river following many years of international cooperation. Huge festivals on the banks of the rivers; public meetings and fun, educational events pay tribute to the Danube, its peoples and the progress that has been made.

  • Danube Tourist Commission

    The Danube Tourist Commission was founded in 1970 to form a tourism marketing association. The aim was to make the Danube region better known internationally and to promote tourism in the area. In 1998 the Danube Tourist Commission extended its activities to include the Main-Danube Canal. Location of the Secretariat: Vienna, Austria

  • Danube Universities

    "Danube Universities" is a partnership project between universities along the Danube in the subject area Renewable energy and efficient use of energy. A trans-regional, voluntary partnership between Danube universities builds a trans-regional network that opens new avenues to the partners. Possible forms of cooperation  of the Danube universities are: exchange of experiences, exchange among students, practical training in firms/institutes, exchange of teachers, summer schools, know how transfer, common research projects.

  • Donau Buero Ulm

    Project agency set up in 2002 by the cities of Ulm and Neu-Ulm for interregional cooperation in the Danube area. Location: Ulm, Germany

  • DONAUHANSE

    The City Network DonauHanse was established in 2006, to establish a network of cities, which provides sound solutions to similar problems with the greatest possible benefit for all participating cities and regions along the Danube. Until today the network consist of 24 members along the Danube. DonauHanse offers the possibility to develop projects for all members or host other activities like know-how transfer workshops, to develop solutions for similar problems together.

  • Europa Forum Wien

  • European Danube Academy (Donau Akademie)

    The European Danube Academy is an institutional platform for networking activities of the Danube countries, cities and regions. It offers interdisciplinary conferences, symposia and courses of lectures on scientific, environmental and cultural issues regarding current political and social developments in the Danube region.     The International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR) works to ensure the sustainable and equitable use of waters and freshwater resources in the Danube River Basin.     The vision of the International Sava River Basin Commission (ISRBC) is a transboundary cooperation for sustainable development of the region.     KulturKontakt Austria (KKA) is a European competence and resource centre for education, culture and the arts, focusing geographically on Austria, Eastern and South Eastern Europe. KKA operates as an Austrian institution on behalf of and supported by the Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture.   • Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC)

    Set up in 1990, the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC) is an international organisation with a mission to assist in solving environmental problems.   • Regional School of Public Administration (ReSPA)

    ReSPA is an international organisation which has been entrusted with the mission of boosting regional cooperation in the field of public administration in the Western Balkans.   • Southeast European Cooperative Initiative (SECI)

    The SECI, Initiative launched in 1996 as alternative to the Dayton Agreement, aims at contributing to the regional efforts for sustainable development and integration and the bridging of remaining obstacles to cooperation and development in South East Europe.

    One of  SECI´s Danube initiatives is the "Partnership for Improvement of Danube Infrastructure and Navigation" (PIDIN): PIDIN is a forum addressing economic development aspects of the Danube River Basin. Primary focus are inland waterways transport, navigation and cooperation within the Danube River Basin area, including related topics such as environement, navigation, infrastructure, energy, project implementation and coordination.

  • South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP)

    The South-East European Cooperation Process is a forum for diplomatic and political dialogue reaffirming the political will and readiness of the countries from SEE to work together and to follow a common agenda thus meeting the region’s needs of stability, security, democratization and economic prosperity.

  • South East Europe Police Chiefs Association (SEPCA)

    The Association is dedicated to building public security in South Eastern Europe,through its co-operative police services, together with the citizens and its partner organizations.

  • South-eastern Europe Health Network (SEEHN)

    SEEHN is a political and institutional forum set up by the governments of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Serbia and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia to promote peace, reconciliation and health in the region. WHO/Europe lends technical support to SEEHN’s various health projects, after having supplied its secretariat, along with the Council of Europe, from 2001 to 2009.

  • Steinbeis Danube Center

    Steinbeis Danube Center is a non-profit institution for fostering the implementation of Danube Strategy. It acts as the integrative link for all stakeholders of Danube Region. The Center is directly involved in activities of several Steering Groups (PA 7, 8, 9). Its work is based on 17 years experience in economic promotion and regional development in Middle and Eastern Europe.

  • Young Citizens Danube Network

    Seven people from Slovenia, Romania, Serbia and Germany founded the “Young Citizens Danube Network” in July 2010 in Novi Sad, Serbia, when they first heard about the Strategy. Their aim is to become a youth initiative and, by this, to participate in the European Union Strategy for Danube Region.
