The INTERACT Programme provides practical support, training and advice to European Territorial Cooperation programmes on management techniques, financial issues, regulations, communication, strategic orientation and policy development.

INTERACT is financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the EU Member States.

The Role of INTERACT in the EUSDR
- Supporting awareness-building and involvement of ETC and IPA-CBC programmes in the development and implementation of the Strategy
- Facilitating networking and communication among stakeholders in the Danube Region
- Developing and implementing an overall communication plan for the Strategy, together with the European Commission

The European Commission’s Directorate General for Regional Policy, together with the 27 EU Member States and their regions, manages cross-border, transnational and interregional cooperation initiatives in the EU and at the borders with accession countries.
The Role of the European Commission's Directorate General for Regional Policy in the EUSDR
- Coordinating the policy in consultation with the High Level Group made up of representatives of the countries concerned
- Facilitating the Strategy, assisted by the National Contact Points (NCPs)
- Reporting and evaluating, in partnership with the PACs and other stakeholders
