This website is the the main information portal of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region.  It is coordinated by INTERACT with the support of the European Commission’s General Directorate for Regional Policy.

The INTERACT Programme provides practical support, training and advice to European Territorial Cooperation programmes on management techniques, financial issues, regulations, communication, strategic orientation and policy development.


INTERACT is financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the EU Member States.

  • Facilitating networking and communication among stakeholders in the Danube Region
  • Developing and implementing an overall communication plan for the Strategy, together with the European Commission

  • Coordinating the policy in consultation with the High Level Group made up of representatives of the countries concerned
  • Facilitating the Strategy, assisted by the National Contact Points (NCPs)
  • Reporting and evaluating, in partnership with the PACs and other stakeholders
